The Harris County Sheriff's Office Mounted Patrol Foundation conducts fundraising and public relation events to promote the mission and values of the Harris County Sheriff's Office Mounted Patrol.

The Foundation was established to serve as an organization dedicated to providing community support and supplemental funding for safety equipment and training.

The HCSO Mounted Patrol Unit, was created in 1949 under Sheriff Buster Kern, to serve the people of Harris County in the search of missing persons, escaped prisoners, and to provide assistance with traffic and crowd control and ceremonial functions.

Today, the HSCO Mounted Patrol can be seen regularly working Reliant Park for the Houston Texans games, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and many other functions around Harris County.
